Soft lighting is essential for setting a romantic and warm mood at your wedding reception. While candles and fairy lights are all good and well, there are other ways to create the perfect ambiance – like table lamps, for instance!
Nowadays you get a wide variety of lamps to pick and choose from – different styles, colours, shapes and sizes. For instance, if you’re planning a vintage affair, think lamps with soft fabric lampshades, or for a more modern look, opt for lamps with steel or metallic heads.
Whether you opt for tall standing lamps in the corner of the venue, or small “bedside lamps” on every guest table, there’s no denying that this is something completely different. If you’re on a tight budget, visit thrift stores to get your hands on lamps that you can recover and re-spray.
One of the key things to bear in mind is of course power points. The last thing you want is for guests to be tripping over extension cords, so make sure that you place your lamps within strategic distance of the nearest plug point.
