The Lemonade Stand

Part of the charm of the iconic suburban lemonade stand is the (probably Hollywood-inspired) innocence and childish allure of this juvenile career option. There is nothing quite like an ice-cold homemade lemonade on a sweltering summer's day and the lemonade stand represents all of this refreshment and plain, old, lip-smacking “aaah” perfectly. By choosing this as your wedding theme, you choose to incorporate the fun and flimsy of youth in your special day.

Firstly, you will need to decide whether this will be a theme that runs through every aspect of your day, or whether you'd prefer just to have an actual lemonade stand at your reception as a sweet feature. If you opt for the latter, you can have a really cute vintage stand that offers your guests a variety of lemonades (pink lemonade, lemon and lime lemonade, mint and lemonade, etc...). However, if you choose a theme that transcends every aspect of your wedding theme, consider incorporating the following ideas:

Include some of your favourite lemonade recipes with each invitation to whet the appetite. On the other hand, you may use your invitation to request that each of your friends brings their favourite recipe to your wedding.
Keep the mood child-like by using “young” fonts in your wedding stationery.
Use lemons throughout your décor, including their warm, buttery colour.
Put a lemonade vat on each table and ask that your guests toast you with lemonade (great for couples that do not drink alcohol or that have chosen not to include it in the wedding for whatever reason).
Set up a cute, rustic lemonade stand and use this as a prop and / or backdrop for your wedding photos.
