Wedding Vision Boards

Vision boards are designed to help you to lay out your thoughts, ideas and inspirations in a visual way. The thought behind it is that, if you can see it and visualise it, you can do it. This is a method that has been used by counselors and life coaches for years. Now, you can use it effectively for the planning and success of your special day.

To create your own vision board, page through your photographs, magazines and brochures and keep any pictures that spark something in your imagination or that you would like included. These pictures will not commit you to that particular dress or cake; they are merely there to act as a visual representation of what you would ideally like and what is important to you.

You may choose to set a theme (either by including design elements of your theme or by sticking to your wedding colour) so that there is uniformity and consistency throughout. In addition to pictures, include statements or words that inspire you, keep you focused and give you confidence, especially during times of stress. A vision board needs no limits. If you dream of a horse-drawn carriage, include that on your board. If you include photographs of yourself, make sure that they are pictures you like; choose nothing that may demotivate you.

Be as creative, free and innovative as you want. Glitter, sparkles, cardboard cut-outs and embellishments are all part of making your vision a reality for you. Look at it often to maintain focus.

You will need:

  • A large piece of card or a pin-board
  • Glue
  • Sharp scissors
  • Embellishments
  • Photographs
  • Magazine pictures
